I thought I had lost these videos, thus our series had come to a screeching halt. I was so thrilled to have found them. It made me so sad to think that my brilliant idea of recording this was lost. For some reason Gus was not there that night... she must have been at work.
Loaf: He gives me tuck tucks and let's me sit on his lap and sleep in his bed. And he makes me feel better.
Dash: I love that he is patient and he lets me play the computer and he is a nice man.
Whitney: Daddy, one thing I love about you is that I think you really are a great example of the character of Christ, in trying to emulate him. In one very specific sense is that you are always looking outward when you could be looking in. In the moments when you could be tired because you were up all night with the kids, you could very well have a selfish moment instead you always look outward. Like this morning you came home and did all the dishes when you could have gone and taken a shower because it is your birthday. It's something I've always really admired in you.
Samantha: One thing I love about Dad is that he is willing to joke around with us but also teach us important things.
Fred: One thing I love about Daddy is that he loves to spend time with us and whether we're just talking and laughing or helping me with my math homework or we go on errands together .... sometimes when we go on errands together we just talk and he teaches me things, like about the minimum wage and..... it's fun.
Tank: What I love about Dad is that he sometimes lets us do stuff that we rarely ever get to do and sometimes he can be very strict about things, like if don't respect mom he gets "peeod" about that.
Rock: What I like about Dad is that it's hard to stay angry at him. Like one moment I can be angry enough to wring his neck and leave him broken in an alley and then the next second you are just okay with him again.
Brick: What I love about Dad is that he's caring and mostly every other feature about him.
Allison: I love that you put our family first that we are your priority, that doesn't always happen in the world.
If you could truly know this wonderful man you would understand how emotions run deep when we try to express how much we love and appreciate John. He holds our family together in a way that brings peace and stability to a family full of hot headed people. He loves wholly and teaches with wisdom and patience. How we love this extraordinary father and husband!
