My studio table is a disaster. From the photos that I had developed to create our December Daily album for 2014 to the homework and other projects that have happened (a prom dress, etc). My studio is in dire need of a cleaning, but it's been a wonderfully fun creative month. One of my little projects, which really ended up being big was to participate in Cori's (The Reset Girl) ListersGottaList challenge.
Planners, lovely creative planners are all the rage right now and as part of the creative aspect of planner systems Cori started a monthly list of lists. I LOVE LISTS! I knew I wanted to incorporate them into my journal. It was a fun addition to the day to day musings.
However, I kept seeing the creative lists that people were doing and I was looking for something to add to April's documenting album so about half way through April I started making fun little decorative lists. Not wanting to clog my regular instagram feed (follow here @kimball_allison) I created a new creative studio feed: see here @akimball_studio to post the daily lists and whatever else is happening in the studio.
Creating the lists on project life cards allowed me to make tiny canvases filled with wonderful memories and fun embellishments. I love cute embellishments! I rarely use them in my scrapbooks so this was a wonderful opportunity for me to use them in this project.
Sometimes I would ask my children about the lists and other times the memories that the lists brought up were filled with such nostalgia and delight.
Some lists were things I would have never written about otherwise. Little pieces of my life, glimpses into my childhood and things that define me as a person.
You might not have the desire or the inclination to make these little mini pages, but it's a little bit of unexpected family history that I hadn't anticipated doing this month. I think I will continue with May's challenge, but perhaps I will try something a little different as I'm still trying to practice calligraphy. We'll have to see.
