We are getting close to the first few letters John wrote to Whitney on her mission. Thankfully the children to something funny every week so there are plenty of things to write about.
Yesterday I went through the drive through at Carls Junior to get a Big Hamburger. I handed the woman my 1.39 in exact change. She counted it and then gave me back .14. I asked her what that was for, and she said, "Senior discount". I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. I just took the .14 and the hamburger and drove off. Today, I took some zucchini from home and steamed it and am having that for lunch. I don't know why I got the senior discount, but I have to do something to slow down the inevitable approach of death.
The Tank and Rock are playing lacrosse, which I find to be more interesting than soccer. They are having a lot of fun with that. Brick likes to play catch with me these days with a little baseball mitt and a tennis ball. He is getting good. He has some good athletic ability. Dash is a lady's man. He has two girlfriends in preschool now: Becca and Lilly. Arnold loves to tease him about that.
Oh I forgot another thing that happened to me yesterday. I went in for my dentist appointment, and the technician did the cancer screening where she looks around in ones mouth. She said to me, "You have a bit of cheek bite." I said, "Is that uncommon?" She said, "Well, you do have somewhat fleshy cheeks." Fleshy cheeks? Fleshy cheeks and senior discount all in one day? Anyway, the zucchini is fairly bland, but I have to do something.
In the temple Dean tried to line up Gus with a boy because he said they are both tall. Gus muttered, "I don't know him." He also told Arnold that she was prettier than average or something like that.
Loaf got a princess bed that we set up on Saturday. So the new routine is I put her to bed in the princess bed and usually sleep there until 4 to 6 because she wakes up if I leave. Then I transition to our bed, and she follows me if I am there for any length of time.
