What a stunning picture of the Savior! I don't think I have ever seen that before, so I was surprised it was available on lds.org. I really like it!! A friend of mine and I were discussing recently about how we think too many artists depict Jesus as "handsome" or "beautiful", but that with the climate and conditions in the middle east during the time of Christ's ministry, he would probably have been dirty and smelly by our modern standards. It would take a lot more than good looks to make someone walk away from their livlihood like Peter and Andrew did. It was the Spirit! Isaiah says that "he hath no form or comliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him" (Isaiah 53:3). That being said, I think that we are "attracted" to Christ by the incredible spirit we feel as we follow and obey his teachings and example. And the spirit is a beautiful thing!! Thank you for sharing this today!! I love it!
