I have great children. They do amazing things, but they are children and sometimes (more than I would like) they fight. Yet, they continually create situations where they can be together. They want to be friends with one another, it's really an astonishing thing for me. I unfortunately did not have the same attitude with my siblings and I missed out on some great experiences. So to see my children want to be together makes me happy, even if the event does end up in tears.
The latest project they have been working on is a new chicken coop. Not just any coop, this is going to be the alcatraz for chickens. We have fox, mink, and raccoons that killed many of the last group of chickens we had. It was was very traumatic, so this new coop is going to be a fortress. Gus and Arnold are designing it and using their construction skills to create the predator proof structure.
The jobs were dividing in a rotation so that there was always someone weeding. Weeds are prolific in our yard no matter how much time we spend combating them.
We have had a lovely fall. The weather has been perfect and it has been a joy to watch the children work and play in the brisk fall afternoons. I know I take this all for granted, but for a minute I'm going to appreciate the blessings of my life.
