Weekends provide the help I need of having all the bigger people home working to pick up the pieces that I dropped over the course of the week. I need the extra help cleaning and managing the littles.
I need the weekends to catch up on their lives away from home. I need to just know they are here, even if we are in separate rooms.
I need a break from the whining and exasperated looks, so I often go into my studio and close the door and just be alone for a little while. I still get people coming in and out telling me their problems, requesting some assistance, but somehow on the weekend it's easier to bear and quite often most just stay and work on something with me.
The weekends provide a time for added spiritual nourishment. Additional moments to study, partaking of the sacrament and renewing my covenants with the Lord all bring essential filling of my well. The added bonus of weekend dates to the temple with John are some of the sweetest moments that bring peace.
