Our first crib arrived when Munch was born. We lovingly placed our girls within, but after Fred was old enough to sleep in a big girl bed we gave it away for another family to use and love (because remember, we were done having children).
Less than a year later we needed not one but two cribs to accomodate the beautiful little men that joined our lives. They sat side by side as soldiers protecting our rough and tumble boys as they grew. When it was time to move into big boy beds we once again gave the cribs away (because remember we were REALLY done having children now).
Four years later the surprise birth of Brick allowed us the opportunity to once again get another crib. Nine short months later our 5th crib was obtained following the birth of Dash. Brick's crib was given away much sooner than expected as he learned to climb out at an unusually young age but again it went to a loving family (because remember, no matter what we were DONE having children.).
A couple of months before Loafie was born the baby boys broke the remaining crib. I have no idea how it happened, but one day I walked into their room to find the sides falling off and a few of the spindles broken. These are some strong baby boys, but I was okay with the destruction as it seemed fitting to have our last crib gone.
For the last year the final two portions of the crib remained waiting for me to take them to the dump, until one day after talking to my friend Melanie I had an idea. I called her up and they worked their magic!
Our 5th Crib is now two amazing magnet boards! They are darling and now I have a bit of our crib history permanantly in our home.
Just for the record, our 6th crib (Loafie's bed) will be our final crib. We are happy to report that we are never going to give up this crib, not because we have plans for additional children but because it just makes sense.
