Bishop Bednar 5th Sunday Talk 08.30.2009
(Notes that I don't want to forget)
*Falling into transgression comes faster, goes farther; while coming back requires more, takes longer
*2 Nephi 26:22 "Leadeth by the neck by a flaxen cord." Single flaxen strand around your neck (You can not remove you head) "Leadth men away carefully"... not knowing what is going on.
*No one is immune and it starts with a thought (example of David)
*We can not negotiate with evil.
*King Benjamin taught: watch your thoughts, words, and deeds
*Ironic that the "freedom" we desire actually enslaves us.
*Good people can be and do bad things and fall into transgression.
*Consequences even after forgiveness, STD, prison sentences, etc.
*Satan gives us what we think we want for a small moment and then torments us forever.
*Satan (Garden of Eden) says, "Hide, He will see your nakedness"
The Lord says, "Come unto me..."
