Hanging out and trying to figure out what I was doing.
A bit of stitiching that I've wanted to make sine the 1997 May Children's Friend came out. Finally got it done and framed. Another hobby... don't really need one of those so I just pretend is part of the quilting.
"Make stuff" A swap with Kristina... It was fun to have a card arrive that I could use for the daily cards. A nice break. So I decided to empty out my wallet of all the pennies and I made 16 additional penny cards. If someone would like to have an "easy" day and get a card in the mail just send me your address. (The cards are dated April 2008 in case you were wondering)
you can always read the backs here... not to exciting mind you
for a class I'm taking: self portrait with your name included (could not be added digitally). It was a bit comical trying to hold the camera out with one hand, get focused and hold the paper in the other. I never notice my freckles until I see a closeup of my face.
My mommy made these. They were really good.
Happiness sitting on my studio shelf.
Organizing my journals. I've written off and on since I was eight. Want to have a clean look when I open the cupboard. Obsessive, I know.
A detail from the tennis court that I see everyday.
Walking into my mom's house is a profusion of hyacinths, the smell is lovely. She must have thought I was batty lying on my stomach on the sidewalk in front of her door.
an actual layout... it's shocking I know. I haven't created a layout in a very, very long time. I might have to do it again sometime soon.
I have been reading with my big girls again. Not in the same way we did when they were small, but sharing the same books and talking about them. It's been a fun "bonding" sort of experience. Of course some of these books this layout (a few from the last 6 months) they have not read and need to be a bit older or develop an interest (photography books).
Here is a close up of one side. Each of the covers is sewn opens to reveal a bit of a review and the number of stars I gave the books. I've really gained a new appreciation for Young Adult literature.
