Finally out of the hospital.... again! My short out patient test turned into 4 days and 3 nights. YUCK! I am really beginning to hate that place, but in all fairness the nursing staff and Dr's were wonderful! If you have to get sick that is where you want to be.
We finally have infections under control and I only destroyed 3 veins in the process. Apparently I have "fragile veins" and am a "hard stick". It took nearly 8 attempts before a successful IV could be inserted each time. I warned each nurse before she started (I didn't want anyone to feel bad if it didn't work)but it was quite frustrating . They had to bring up an "IV pro" from the ER each time and she even cursed getting it in. When the 3 vein gave out yesterday evening the Dr. decided to
start the oral antibiotics a little early. I was quite relieved.
As I walked around the halls on my floor I kept thinking too bad I didn't bring my camera. There were some really neat photos I would have like to have taken (like the blood pressure machines all lined up... nearly 20 or more), things I wouldn't have
noticed except that I walked past them 40 times a day for 4 days. But I never remembered to have them bring it. Oh well.
I'm home now convalescing.
Thank you for your kindness towards me.
Just checking in....
a few more complications, I have to go back into the hospital tomorrow. Should be out patient....
Thought I would share a funny story. The boys asked their dad for some water before bedtime and he brought them some well water (we have this fantastic well near our home with the best water). They commented later to each other that the water would make them well. It made us giggle.
